Information about this election
A Local Government By-Election will be held on Thursday 25 June 2026 to fill a vacancy that has arisen in Ward 4, East Sutherland and Edderton, following the resignation of Councillor Jim McGillivray.
Following the deadline for nominations at 4pm on Thursday 21 May 2026, the candidates for Ward 4, East Sutherland and Edderton are:
- AYREY, Jay – Reform UK
- DE VENNY, Eric – Scottish Liberal Democrats
- MACHIN, Rebecca – Scottish National Party (SNP)
- MURRAY, John – Independent
- SHORT, Eva – Scottish Conservative and Unionist
