Information for voters

You can vote on Thursday 25 June 2026, between 7am and 10pm.

You will get a poll letter in the post. It tells you if you are a postal voter or where to go to cast your vote at your designated polling station. Check it carefully as this details where you should go to cast your vote.

  • registered to vote by midnight on Monday 8 June 2026
  • living in Ward 4

If you are not sure if you are registered, contact the electoral registration office.

Voting by post or proxy

If you cannot go to the polling station, you can:

  • vote by post
  • ask someone to vote for you (proxy vote)

How to fill out your ballot paper

For this election you vote using numbers. You will see a list of people (candidates) who want to be your councillor. You will be asked to number the candidates in order of your choices using 1,2, 3 and so on. This means you should rank the candidates in order of your preference on the ballot paper. Electors are advised to vote using numbers as follows:

Number the candidates in the order of your choice.

  • Put the number 1 in the box next to the name of the candidate who is your first choice.
  • 2 in the box next to your second choice.
  • 3 in the box next to your third choice and so on.

You can make as many or as few choices as you wish.

Counting of votes

Votes will be counted electronically on Friday 26 June 2026 at 10am
