Organising Events
Benefits of Organising an Event
We are committed to supporting a thriving, sustainable events sector that enhances quality of life, attracts visitors, and contributes to a greener, fairer economy.
Events are a vital part of the Highland tourism ecosystem. Done correctly, they can:
- boost the local economy by attracting visitors and supporting local businesses
- celebrate our culture and heritage, including the Gaelic language
- strengthen communities through participation, pride, and shared experiences
- support sustainable tourism by encouraging responsible travel and environmental stewardship
- extend the tourism season, helping to spread visitor numbers more evenly throughout the year
These priorities align with the Council's Sustainable Tourism Strategy and the National Events Strategy.
