Enrol your child for school

If your child will be five years old on or before 28 February 2027, they are eligible to enrol for Primary 1 in the 2026 to 2027 session.

If you wish to enrol your child for Primary 1, do so during enrolment week.

Enrolment week for Primary 1 pupils is from Monday 26 January to Friday 30 January 2026.

Parents with no access to the online process can request a paper copy of the enrolment form from their catchment school during enrolment week.

Gaelic Medium Education

Highland Council are committed to providing equal respect for English and Gaelic, on the basis that they both have an essential part to play in Highland life. It is for this reason that you are asked to consider whether you wish to complete enrolment for English Medium or Gaelic Medium Education.

Early Learning and Childcare

Children born between 1 March 2022 and 29 February 2024 are entitled to a funded Early Learning and Childcare place.

For Early Learning and Childcare places, enrolment week commences Monday 9 February and concludes on Friday 13 February 2026.
