There is circulated Report No PLN/057/25 by the Area Planning Manager - North which, provides a summary of all cases within the “Major” development category currently with the Planning and Development Service for determination.The report also details progress on proposals submitted under S36 or S37 of the Electricity Act 1989 on which the Council is consulted.
The Committee is invited to note the current position of these applications.

Nature of Development: Achies BESS - Construct and operate a battery energy storage system (BESS) development and associated infrastructure, with a generating capacity of approximately 162MW.

Location: Land Between Strathy North And South Wind Farms, Strathy

Nature of Development: Strathy South Wind Farm Grid Connection - installation and operation of 132kV OHL on double circuit steel structure towers, approximately: Option 1, 10.5km with 8.3km installed with a future capacity of 275 kV; or, Option 2, 13.5km with 11km installed with a future capacity of 275kV comprising the removal and temporary diversion of existing OHL to allow temporary underground cabling.
