Risk in traffic

In Scotland, the "Risk in traffic" Blue Badge applies to individuals with a diagnosed mental disorder or cognitive impairment who have little or no awareness of danger from traffic, posing a high risk to themselves or others.

You cannot qualify as ‘at risk in traffic’ if you can drive. This only applies if you would be using a Blue Badge as a passenger.

To apply under this criteria, call us on 01349 886 604 or visit one of our Service Points for a form.

You will need a healthcare professional, social worker or teacher who have seen the applicant during the last 12 months to counter sign and complete part of this form.

If your application is refused

We will write to tell you why you are not eligible. The letter will explain how to ask for a review.

You can also apply again if your mobility problems become more serious.
