Stages of Local Place Plan preparation

For information on the stages involved in preparing a Local Place Plan—draft, proposed, finalised, and registered—read our Local Place Plan Preparation Flow Chart.

Funding

You may be seeking sources of funding to support the preparation of your Local Place Plan.

One potential source is the Ward Discretionary Fund. This fund may be able to assist with costs related to community engagement activities, such as printing.

Notifying the Council

Any community council or community-controlled body planning to prepare a Local Place Plan is encouraged to notify the Development Plans Team by completing our Notification of Intent form.

There is no obligation to complete this form or to submit a Local Place Plan in the future. It acts solely as a means of indicating your intent to prepare a plan.

Our templates include a guidance document (available in Word and PDF formats) and four blank templates:

While we provide these templates for guidance, you are not required to use them. They are designed to help ensure your Local Place Plan meets the legal requirements set by the government for the preparation of such plans.
