Submission requirements and additional guidance
Scottish Government requirements
The information that must accompany a Local Place Plan submission by law is detailed in the Planning Aid Scotland (PAS) checklist for Local Place Plan validation.
Our Local Place Plan Template Guidance also outlines the Scottish Government requirements for Local Place Plans, as well as the information the Council requests to support the validation process.
Things requested by the Council
We ask for the following to assist with the validation of your Local Place Plan.
Local Place Plan area map
The boundary of the Local Place Plan area must be delineated with a solid line (not fuzzy or dashed) so we can accurately locate it within our Local Place Plan map register.
Hyperlinks in your Local Place Plan
Any hyperlinks included in your submission should be provided as full URLs, either within the text, in a footnote, or as an endnote in your documents.
Contact details
Following our Notification of Intent Privacy Notice, we will not display personal contact details in our directory and map of Local Place Plans.
Contact details provided within any document submitted as part of your Local Place Plan must be generic. Personal email addresses, postal addresses, and phone numbers are not permitted.
Consents
The community group preparing the Local Place Plan is responsible for obtaining all necessary permissions for any photos or graphics included before submitting the plan to the Council.
Gaelic Guidance
If your community group wishes to include Gaelic language in your Local Place Plan, we have produced a bilingual guide to the consideration of Gaelic in Local Place Plans.
Guidance and tools to assist communities in preparing Local Place Plans are available at Guidance and tools for Local Place Plan preparation.
