Salvation Army textile banks at Recycling Points

The Salvation Army has confirmed it will remove its textile banks from Recycling Points across the Highland Council area following an operational review. The organisation reports that challenging market conditions, driven by a global oversupply of textiles and a decline in the quality of donated material, mean it can no longer cover the full costs associated with collecting and processing donations.

The textile banks are in the process of being removed from sites in the following Recycling Points:

How to recycle unwanted clothing and textiles

Clothes and textiles in good condition can be donated to charity shops and reuse organisations and sold for reuse.

Householders can continue to recycle clothing and textiles at 200 Recycling Points, which have textile banks serviced by other contractors located across the region. If the banks are full, we ask that you do not leave bags of textiles beside the bin; instead, take them home with you.
