Other travel discounts available

The National Entitlement Card (NEC) or Young Scot NEC lets you get discounts on some ferry and train journeys.

Ferry travel

If you are over 60 or have a disability, you can:

  • travel free on ferries within the Highlands
  • get half-price fares on the Craignure to Oban route

Train travel

If you have a visual impairment, you may get:

  • free rail and ferry travel across Scotland
  • companion travel at half price or a 50p single fare

Disabled person’s railcard

You may also qualify for a Disabled Person’s Railcard, which gives:

  • one-third off most UK train fares
  • one-third off for a companion too
