Electoral Participation - Young Voters

Young Voters

This is our dedicated webpage for young voters to participate and engage in upcoming elections. You can find out more information below.

Voting in an Election is your chance to help decide who will make decisions on issues that affect you every day.

Welcome to Your Vote Week 2024 – Your Voice Matters

We’re getting involved with the Electoral Commission’s Welcome to Your Vote Week 2024, Monday 29 January to Sunday 4 February, to support young people to have the knowledge they need to get involved in democracy and elections.

This year’s theme is Your Voice Matters. Everyone can make an impact on the issues that matter to them.

You can start learning about democracy and your vote now by heading to the Electoral Commission’s website

How to vote

In order to vote you must be on the Register of Electors.

If you are not registered, you can't vote - it is as simple as that.

Register to Vote

Those registered to vote will receive a Poll Card shortly before polling day detailing further information on where and how to vote in the election.

If you are unable to vote in person, in certain circumstances, you may be able to vote by post or appoint a proxy (which is appointing someone to vote on your behalf).
