What your petition must include
Your petition must not:
- contain offensive, inflammatory or inappropriate language
- include false or defamatory statements
- include commercially sensitive material
Who can submit a petition
Petitions may be submitted by:
- citizens – with at least 50 signatures from people living in the Highland Council area
- businesses – with support from at least 10 local businesses, voluntary organisations or social enterprises with a business address in the Highland Council area
What you can petition about
Petitions may relate to:
- council activities or responsibilities, including services delivered by other organisations on behalf of the council
- matters affecting the interests and welfare of residents, voluntary organisations or businesses in the council area
