How much we charge for rent

Charge free rent weeks

For housing or garage rent paid weekly, we charge rent over 48 weeks of the year instead of 52. This means there are 4 weeks when rent is not charged.

When you do not pay rent

You do not need to pay rent during the 4 charge free weeks if:

  • you pay the full amount due each week
  • your rent account is up to date

If you pay weekly by cash, debit or credit card

The 4 charge free weeks are usually:

  • 2 weeks at Christmas and New Year (when our offices are closed)
  • 2 weeks at the beginning of April

If you pay weekly by Direct Debit or Standing Order

You still get 4 charge free weeks. These are usually the 4 weeks in March before the financial year ends in April.

We will send you a payment schedule when you set up a Direct Debit. This will show the dates your rent will be collected.

If you pay monthly

Your monthly rent is based on 48 chargeable weeks.
To work it out:

  • Multiply your weekly rent by 48
  • Divide that number by 12
The result is your monthly rent

You must still pay in advance.

If you owe rent

If you have missed payments, you must continue to pay what you owe during the charge free weeks.
