A9/A82 Longman Interchange
What is planned
The Longman Interchange project will replace the existing roundabout with a grade-separated junction. The preferred option includes:
- the A9 passing over the A82
- diamond layout slip roads connecting to an enlarged roundabout
- improved connections to Stadium Road and the A82
- enhanced routes for pedestrians and cyclists
Progress so far
- consultant appointed in August 2017 to lead design and assessment
- public exhibitions held in May 2018 to present junction options
- preliminary ground investigations completed in October 2018
- DMRB Stage 2 route options assessment completed in June 2019
- preferred option presented at public exhibitions in June 2019
- DMRB Stage 3 assessment underway to refine the design and prepare draft Orders
