West Link project progress
Stage 1 – completed
- Canal Parks enhancement completed in December 2017
- new golf course and clubhouse completed in spring 2019
Stage 2 – underway
Construction began in June and is expected to be completed by December 2020. This stage includes:
- a second swing bridge to prevent road traffic disruption from canal traffic
- demolition of the existing golf clubhouse, with materials recycled (scheduled for late July/early August 2019)
- realignment of General Booth Road, including utility works and resurfacing (scheduled for completion in 2019)
- canal works including bridge foundations, wharf construction and service crossings (scheduled for November 2019 to March 2020)
