West Link and Inshes

The West Link project is designed to support the growth of Inverness by:

  • reducing traffic congestion in the city centre
  • improving journey times to and from the west of the city
  • enabling new housing and economic development
  • expanding the active travel network for walking and cycling

The project also includes improvements at Inshes and the construction of a second swing bridge to reduce delays caused by canal traffic.

The project is funded by £64.3 million from Highland Council.
