Risk of homelessness

What happens next

Homeless interview

After your first enquiry, someone from the housing team will contact you to talk about your situation.

We understand this can feel overwhelming. If you have a face-to-face appointment, you can bring someone with you (such as a friend, relative or support worker).

Please bring any information that helps us understand your housing needs. This could include:

  • details about your health
  • financial information
  • anything else that supports your application

We will have a full discussion about your housing options. Everything you share will be kept confidential.

Homeless application

If you make a homeless application, we will assess all the information you give us and make a decision.

It is important that you:

  • provide all the information we ask for
  • answer all questions fully

Your application may not progress if you do not give us the information we need.

We have 28 days to assess your application and make a decision.

Homeless decision

Once we have fully assessed your application, we will send you a decision letter. This will tell you:

  • if you are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless
  • if you are homeless intentionally or unintentionally
  • what you need to do next
  • how to appeal if you do not agree with our decision
