Isle of Skye airfield


The airfield was constructed by the Royal Engineers in 1972. We maintain and operate it.

  • Airfield reference point – 57 15 10 N 05 49 30 W
  • Length of runway - 771m
  • Width of runway – 23m
  • Runway surface – Asphalt
  • The aircraft working area is lit and is covered by CCTV
  • There is a clearly marked yellow restricted area, which is exclusively for emergency services use and must remain clear at all times
  • Vehicle access to the airfield is restricted, requiring prior permission. However, parking is available outside the entrance

Up to date weather information is available from the Met Office using the location Lusa which is near the aerodrome.
