Information for parents and carers
We are committed to providing safe and reliable school transport for eligible pupils across our region. To help us deliver this service effectively, we ask all parents and carers to be aware of the school transport guidance.
Pick-up and drop-off points
School transport is not a door-to-door service. In most cases, pupils must travel to and from designated pick-up and drop-off points.
Parents and carers are responsible for:
- ensuring their child gets safely to and from the transport point
- arranging appropriate supervision if needed
Behaviour on school transport
By accepting a school transport place, parents and pupils agree to the School Transport Behaviour Code.
We ask parents and carers to:
- familiarise themselves with the Behaviour Code
- discuss it with their child
- support schools and transport staff in managing any behaviour issues
Keeping your details up to date
To help us maintain accurate records and ensure your child remains eligible for transport, notify both the school and the School Transport Unit of any:
- change of address
- change in circumstances affecting transport eligibility
- concerns or changes in your child’s needs
Keeping your information current helps us provide a smooth and effective transport service.
If you need further information or assistance with your application, contact the School Transport Unit or speak directly with your child’s school.
