Types of short term let licence
You can apply for one of the following licence types:
Home sharing
Letting out part of your home while you are living there (for example, a spare room).
Home letting
Letting out part or all of your home while you are away (for example, on holiday).
Home letting and home sharing
Letting out your home both while you are there and when you are away.
Secondary letting
Letting a property you do not normally live in (for example, a second home, glamping pod, or annex with a separate entrance).
Temporary short-term let licence
You can apply for a temporary licence using our online application form. A temporary licence is valid for up to 6 weeks and cannot be renewed.
If you apply for a full licence while you have a temporary licence, the temporary licence remains valid until a decision is made
You must meet the same licence conditions and provide the same documents as a full licence.
