Declarations you must make
You must confirm the following declarations as part of your short-term let licence application. If you cannot confirm all of these, you will not be able to apply.
About your application
You confirm that:
- all information provided in the application is true and accurate
- all property owners have been identified and named in the application
- all owners have given permission for the property to be used as a short-term let
- everyone involved in day-to-day management of the property is listed in the application
- the licensing authority will be notified of any changes to management
- only those named as duty holders will manage the property
Safety and compliance
You confirm that:
- fire and carbon monoxide detection equipment is installed and working
- furniture and furnishings meet fire safety regulations, with records available
- all reasonable steps have been taken to ensure the property is safe for residential use
- any required planning permissions or building warrants have been applied for
- guest information is prepared and provided before arrival
- the property has a valid Energy Performance Certificate (EPC), if required
- the property licence number will be shown on all adverts and listings
- plans are in place to display the EPC rating on adverts, if required
- a Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) report has been completed for all moveable appliances accessible to guests
- the property has valid buildings insurance and public liability insurance
- any pressure vessels, lifts, or mechanical equipment have valid safety certification
Legal responsibilities
You confirm that you have checked:
- the licence holder complies with any additional licence conditions
- the property meets the repairing standard
- you understand the food hygiene and safety rules that apply
Data and legal declarations
You understand that:
- it is an offence to knowingly provide false or misleading information to The Highland Council
- the information you provide may be stored electronically for licensing purposes
- your information may be shared with other relevant authorities for background checks
