Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs)
You can dispose of household waste that cannot go in your bins at a recycling centre. This includes bulky items, garden waste, and small amounts of DIY waste from your home.
These sites are for residents only and are not for business or commercial waste.
What you can bring
You can bring:
- bulky items such as sofas and mattresses
- cardboard (flattened)
- garden waste
- general household waste
- glass bottles and jars (at most sites)
- household batteries
- electrical items (large and small)
- light bulbs (at some sites)
- plasterboard (at some sites, one visit per day)
- scrap metal (at some sites)
- soil and rubble (at most sites, one visit per day)
- textiles (at most sites)
- wood (at some sites)
- engine oil (at some sites)
Check your local site to see what it accepts
Leaving waste outside the site is fly-tipping. This is illegal, and you could be fined.
Do not fly-tip
