After you apply
After you apply, we will:
- record your application in the building standards register
- assign it to a building standards surveyor
- check your plans against the regulations
If anything is missing or needs to change, we will send you a list of what to fix.
You or your agent can update the plans and send them back to us. We will check them again.
Do not start work until you have received your building warrant.
If your application is approved
We will issue your building warrant, and you can then start work.
If your application is refused
We will tell you why your application is refused, then you can:
- change your plans and apply again
- ask us for advice
- appeal to the Sheriff Court
