Pay your council rent

Pay by direct debit

The easiest way to pay your council rent is by Direct Debit, saving you time as payments are taken automatically.

  1. Download and complete a direct debit form
  2. Return to your local service point or post to the address listed on the form

Payment dates

You have the option of paying:

  • every week on a Friday
  • every two weeks on a Friday
  • 12 payments over 12 months
  • 4 payments every 3 months (April, July, October, and January)

Monthly and quarterly payments can be taken on the 1st, 15th, or 28th of the month.

Charge-free weeks

If you pay your rent weekly, you get 4 charge free weeks in the year, unless you are in arrears or temporary homeless accommodation.

Housing Online

Register to access your rent account online. View recent transactions, such as payments you have made, as well as Housing Benefit and Universal Credit Housing Element payments. You can also access a paper direct debit to print off.
