What you can put in your household bins

Paper, card and cardboard (blue bin)

Use your blue bin for recycling paper, card, and cardboard.

You can recycle

  • newspapers and magazines
  • envelopes (including windowed)
  • cereal boxes and cardboard packaging
  • shredded paper
  • catalogues and phone books
  • greetings cards (without glitter or ribbons)

Flatten items where possible and do not put them in plastic bags in the blue bin.

Do not include

  • tissues, napkins or kitchen towels
  • padded envelopes or wallpaper
  • food-stained paper or card
  • hardback books or disposable cups
  • plastic bags
  • plastic-coated packaging
