Plastic, metal and containers (green bin)

Use your green bin to recycle plastic, metal and containers.

You can recycle

  • plastic bottles, tubs and trays
  • food tins and drink cans
  • empty aerosols
  • cartons
  • aluminium food trays

Before recycling

  • rinse containers
  • remove lids and caps
  • flatten bottles and cartons

Ensure all items are clean and dry.

Do not include

  • dirty and bagged recycling
  • containers with food or residues of food waste (everything must be clean for recycling)
  • plastic bags
  • plastic film
  • polystyrene
  • bubble wrap
