Apply for a short term let licence

Multiple units on one licence

You can apply for a single licence to cover multiple units if all of the following apply:

  • the units are on the same site
  • they are under one title deed
  • they share the same postal address
  • they are used for the same type of letting (for example, secondary letting)

If these conditions are not met, you must apply for separate licences.

Self-catering annexes

  • If the unit has its own entrance and does not share facilities (such as a kitchen or bathroom) with the main house, it is classed as secondary letting.
  • If the unit shares facilities with the main house and does not have its own entrance, it is classed as home sharing or home letting.
