A Registrar can conduct your legal marriage ceremony or register a civil partnership anywhere in the highlands from a historic castle to a village hall or a ceremony suite in one of our registration offices.

Types of venue

You can have a ceremony :

  • in a registration office ceremony room
  • in a hotel, hall, castle or other venue
  • outdoors or at a location that is meaningful to you (with approval from landowner)

Our ceremony rooms

Dingwall

  • chamber for up to 60 guests
  • town hall for up to 160 guests
  • disabled access

Dornoch

  • upstairs venue seating up to 45 guests
  • traditional town council chambers

Fort William

  • civic and ceremony room for up to 25 guests
  • ground floor access in a renovated historic building
  • close to Loch Linnhe

Highland Archive and Registration Centre, Inverness

  • seating for 4 to 130 guests - choice of 2 ceremony suites available
  • ground floor ceremony suites
  • parking available, including space for bridal or civil partners' cars
  • floral arrangements in place
  • viewings available by appointment

Wick Town Hall

  • Victorian building with wood panelling and artwork
  • two rooms: one for up to 25 guests, one for up to 60
  • disabled access to the ground floor room
