Giving your tenancy to someone else
If you want to give your tenancy to another person, this is called assignation. To request assignation you must write to your Housing Management Officer or send a letter to the Property and Housing Service.
To be eligible:
- you and the person you want to assign the tenancy to must have lived in the home as your main residence for at least 12 months.
We may say no if:
- the person would not qualify for priority under our housing allocation policy
- assigning the tenancy would cause under-occupancy (too few people for the size of the home)
