Overview of planning hearings

When hearings are held

Hearings are held before a planning application is determined. There are two types:

  • discretionary hearings requested by the Planning Applications Committee
  • non-discretionary hearings required by law under the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997

Who runs the hearing

Hearings are held by either:

  • the Planning Applications Committee
  • the full Council
