Pay garage rent
Garage and site rents are charged weekly. Charges may vary depending on the location and type of space.
To check the current rent, contact the housing team.
If you are not a Highland Council tenant, VAT will be added to the rent.
How to pay
You must pay rent in advance. You can pay by:
- direct debit
- card
- cash or cheque
- bank transfer
- salary deduction if you work for Highland Council
- for further information contact your local housing team
We will give you a payment card when your tenancy starts.
Garage rent increases 2026 to 2027
The following rent increases will apply for 2026 to 2027
Black Isle and Easter Ross Area Committee
Wards 6, 7 and 9
- Weekly increase: 8% - from 29/06/2026
- Annual Increase: 8% - from 01/07/2026
Caithness Committee
Wards 2 and 3
- Weekly increase: 10% - from 29/06/2026
- Annual Increase: 15% - from 01/07/2026
City of Inverness and Area Committee
Wards 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 and 19
- Weekly increase: 10%
- Annual Increase: 10%
Dingwall and Seaforth Area Committee

- Weekly increase: 5%
- Annual Increase: 5%
Isle of Skye and Raasay Committee

- Weekly increase: 8%
